BIOGRAPHY

Zheyi Mai (b. 1985, China) is an abstract artist and DipWSET-certified wine expert residing and working in Provence, France. Mai creates vibrant paintings that capture the intricate interactions of wine's aromas, flavors, acid structure, and tannin texture. Using acrylics on canvas, wine bottles, and oil pastels on paper, her work transforms the sensory complexity of wine tasting into abstract art, breaking free from traditional wine tasting norms and inviting viewers to appreciate the simplicity of wine as sensory experiences.

With a background in Graphic Design, Mai combines her deep understanding of wine with her intuitive nature, expressing the complexity of taste through her unique visual language. Exhibited at Domaine Les Béates in Lambesc, Provence, her pieces are held in the private collection of Dr. Steve Charters, Master of Wine. Mai's spirituality deeply influences her perception of life, beauty, and sensory experiences, inspiring her to infuse the exploration of presence, beingness, and the richness of life in her artworks.
